Product Description The California Car Duster is the ORIGINAL car and truck duster with the 26" handle! This 100% cotton strand duster cleans and dusts. Cleans cars, vans, trucks and boats without water. The strand fibers are beaded with a paraffin wax not a petroleum based chemical like other dusters.
It gently lifts pollen and dust away from the finish and is guaranteed never to scratch. The California Car Duster comes complete with a storage pouch. This product tends to outperform and outlast the plastic handle version.

Brilliant February 11, 2010 A. Matthew (india) Use it to clean my car in India. It is pretty duststy hence cars need to be cleaned daily. This + the dust ends up eroding the wax surface. I normally dust the car down after I reach home and again early morning after my workout before the staff start cleaning the car. It is less effort for them and actually the car needs less washing especially if you have polished it.
No more car wash December 25, 2009 Vahe Khachatryan (Glendale) After I purchased California Car Duster I never went back to car wash. It is a great product which is very practical that can save you a lot of money from paying to a car wash. It has been 7 months since I've stopped going to car wash!!! I saved about $140 if I assume I would pay in average $10 for car wash and go there twice a month. For some it may be more, for some less than that, but it is definately a money saver!
quick and easy dust removal November 27, 2009 Larry K. Lednik (Northern CA) The California Car Duster has been so much more than I expected. I keep a good finish on my car and it is garaged year-round. Washing the car was (many times) simply a matter of hosing off the dust. This does a damn nice job of dusting all of the car surfaces quickly and easily. Sometimes I get lazy and the car duster saves me a full car wash. Try it!
A Detailers Dream Come True November 19, 2009 Michael "Spike" Behn (CLIFTON, VA USA) Have used a California Duster for over 15 years on brand new and old car finishes, from black to white. This duster keeps a relatively clean, maintained car looking show room shiny and takes only minutes to use. How many things out there can give you a spiffy shine in a couple of minutes?
The key to using the Duster is to follow the clear instructions provided. You MUST let it dry out a day or two before initial use. It has a waxy coating on the fibers (all the more reason it DOES NOT scratch the finish) and it has to dry out before initial use. Have read a couple of reviews that claim the Duster scratches, but suspect it is because they didn't let it dry out. The one time I forgot to do that, it looked liked it scratched (scared the daylights out of me!), but it was just swirls on the surface from the moist wax - easily removed. And, if there is moisture on the car's surface, it too will look like a swirl or scratch until it dries.
Second, it is is a DUSTER, NOT a scrub brush. Only to be used on finishes that are otherwise clean but have dust/pollen on them. If you scrub with it to remove mud, splotches, bird droppings, etc., it WILL scratch, just as dry rubbing a car's finish with ANYTHING will scratch it. You let the Duster do the work, lifting the dust right off the car. Doesn't just push it around, but actually lifts it off.
Maker claims it only gets better with time and dirt, but of course can't figure out how that could be true. BUT, have never noticed any problem with use and dirt accumulation. Tried washing once, which maker says you can do, but seems to remove the waxy coating and defeats the effectiveness. Ya, it may last forever, but I buy a new one once a year - hey it's pretty inexpensive.
Be the envy of neighbors, get one of these and be as amazed as they will.
Works GREAT if you follow their directions! August 16, 2009 TxJeepGirl (In My Own Little World) I am ordering a replacement California Duster today, because the one we've had for a decade finally gave up...
For the people surprised at the initial streaking left on the car - the directions specifically state that you need to set it on newspaper for a couple days to let the paper absorb the residue. (To the best of my recollection, it's been 10 years since we last read the directions.)
We live in South Texas, so the fine dust is endless - this is the perfect solution between waxings!
We own five Mustangs, and show two of them currently. Our cars live in their garage, so before heading out all we have to do is dust off and leave!
If you are looking for an alternative to waxing (or painting!) your vehicle, this is not its intended purpose. You need to have a good finish on your car before expecting the Duster to perform well.
The product is sold as a DUSTER and performs wonderfully as a duster!
